How many Texas riders going to Sturgis?

I sure would like to go this year and it would be nice to have someone to ride along with. How many from Texas or Oklahoma are riding up? I would be willing to share a room or campsite,if possible.

I'll be leaving from Amarillo, but I'm not sure which day my girlfriend and I will leave... possibly Saturday the 7th. We'll be staying at the Glencoe campground in the bikes-only section.

You've gotta get off those interstates and enjoy some two lanes, man. I-25 veers AWAY from the Black Hills at Douglas WY. Get off at Hwy 18/20 and head east to Lusk for gas and beer. For the most scenic route, I would take 18 to Hot Springs, a beautiful town, then 385 through the hills to Sturgis.

Yes, I'm going via 287 to Raton, and then I-25 North to Douglas WY and then across to Lusk. The road from Douglas is a small 2-lane, but it's really scenic.

Sounds like a plan to me. If I can't find anyone around here to go,maybe I can tag along with some of you folks. Have never been to Sturgis on a bike.

Hey Texan! I'm looking forward to actually getting a chance to party with you and Maxey and Stoney again! Haven't decided which day I'm leaving, but probably on Friday or Saturday. I'm gonna go REAL slow through the Black Hills Forest!!

Yep, he tried to get his "tree trimming", "flying" and "down-hill" merit badges all in one left hand curve last year!!! Only thing was, he was behind me so I didn't get any real good pictures and I really didn't think he was up to do'n it again.

And to be very honest, Dave, when I called the hospital to find out what room he was in, so I could go visit, and they told me he'd only broken his thumb...I told the nurse I was going to break he neck when he got to camp!!!!

We'll see... I have a few more Sturgis merit badges to work on this year.

Dave, Kevlar is already packed.
