Angry If Janklow gets off, boycott Sturgis

As we all know, U.S. Rep. Bill Janklow has pleaded not guilty to second-degree manslaughter and three lesser charges filed after a car he was driving collided with a motorcycle last month in eastern South Dakota.

Many of us have seen fellow motorcyclists pass on due to 4 wheeled stupidity. How many times have you shaken your fist or worse at someone daydreaming in their cage after almost killing you and your passenger?

I personally will not be attending Sturgis in August if Janklow is not convicted. How many of you would stand by this if it were your friend or relative that were killed?

Wasn't there a similar boycott of a county in eastern TN a few years ago where a motorcyclist was killed under similar circumstances?

janklow has nothing to do with the rally people. personally, i am NOT a janklow fan, never voted for him, never will. but the sturgis rally should not be subject to what janklow did.

What a great idea!

BOYCOTT!

Beer

The Ride there

Naked Women

Wet Tshirts

Brothers from all over the country

In the event that 12 people cut this dude loose.

I suppose that we should get word out to the Jury that those are our intentions?

If the guy gets cut loose it is because of some slick ass Lawyers and not the State. The STATE brought the charges, remember??

Personally, my hat is off to them for putting the guy on trial. He is an Ex Gov and they are going for it.

By the way, hell of an enterance. How about hopin over to the My Story The Beginning and telling us a bit about yourself?

Thanks

OH yea. Where is the HELL NO voteing button on this one??

With Daschle and Harkin both in the area, can justice be served?
How does good country folk keep these knid in office? Beats me.

I agree with Ginger, one has nothing to do with the other, I would rather enjoy myself, than mourn forever. we have a much bigger problem in this countrty than that and JimmyK hit the nail on the head!

Hows the snowplows Ginger?

If they put everyone in jail for doing something stupid in a car and causing someone else injury, the jails would be full of normally law abiding citizens. While I certainly sympathize with the family of the motorcyclist, the guy would not be on trial if he was not a well-known politician. In most cases of this type the charges are filed and then dropped before trial. Since this case has media attention the DA has no choice but to go to trial. I will be that there is no jail time served here.

He killed someone while speeding and running a stop sign and has a history of this kind of behavior. I just hope nobody in your family ever has a run in with someone like him. I also hope someone like you isn't on his jury. It's attitudes like yours why everyone thinks it's okay to not pay attention while they drive and then say whoops, accident. If they started putting people in jail for injuring and killing people maybe americans would smarten up and pay attention! What a dumb thing to say, why don't you write a letter to the family of the person he killed saying the same thing and see what they think??

Thealien,

Well stated post. I think that Janklow's arrogance on the issue is summed up by his OWN statement:

"Bill Janklow speeds when he drives—shouldn't, but he does," the then-governor said in supporting mandatory jail sentences for drug offenders in his State of the State speech in 1999. "When he gets the ticket, he pays it. But if someone told me I was going to jail for two days for speeding, my driving habits would change. I can pay the ticket, but I don't want to go to jail."

"This time," said Moreland, "an innocent victim appears to have paid the price for Mr. Janklow's driving habits."

Enough said.

This obviously has nothing to do with Sturgis. Why would anyone boycott?
