I usually go 80 through the desert up through Twin Falls to ID Falls to Jax Hole. Considering going all the way over to Salt Lake City and then north to Jax Hole. Can anyone tell me how the ride looks going north on 15 from SLC to Jax Hole?
Is it worth changing the route for?

I'd get off at Elko or Wells and head north up to Idaho Falls and come into Jackson along the Snake River. For one, you don't have to cross the salt flats and you gain some altitude going through Idaho which can bring cooler weather. The 225 is very scenic north of Elko but would be slower.
