Anyone been in Keystone at Midnight?
I met this lady on the street of Custer this past Sturgis Rally. My friends and I were walking intothe same bar as her. I asked her where all the craziness was. She said if I really wanted to see something, goto Keystone at Midnight. Now either she was serious and or some fun goes on there, I have yet to see. Or she thought I was bugging her...Something about the upstairs bar.
Anyone seen any fun in Keystone at midnight?

when we were there it was dead at just past 11pm
but there was a really good Pizza joint open till midnight i think
best pizza i had in a real long time.
I'll try to find the name of it definitely worth stopping in and getting some pizza.
Big time pizza I think is what its called its in an old hotel next to a Helicopter ride place.

The last time I was in Keystone during Bike Week was in 2003. We don't ever ride after midnight, but I've always had a good time in Keystone. It's the spot people end up in after their Iron Mountain ride and there's always been a festive atmosphere and not as crowded as Sturgis. Lots more benches on Main Street, too.
I think the bar you're talking about would be Ruby's. They have (I would expect HAD) an outdoors upstairs bar/balcony where all the wild and crazies hung out hollering down to riders in the street and challenging them to do stoopid stuff. Which a lot of them did. Pretty funny for a while.
The last time I saw it I wouldn't even walk under it. It was wobbling like all of them were and I'd guess they were well over their fire safety limit in the whole place.
Their drinks were strong and their meals were decent. Inside is decorated like an old saloon. Lots of red velvet and hardwood.
Like I said, I don't know if it's still there or not.

Anja, I think it was that 2 storied, open balcony place. Just wondering if there was any action there. The 2 bars in Custer were OK for us, as we stayed 2 blocks away. Thought there would be a bit more excitememnt, but Custer was pretty slow during rally week 08.

Custer has always been dead as a doorknob at night when I've been there. But it's been years since I've cared to hang out at night. S'pose you could do some googling and see if Ruby's is still there.

Or you could park it and party in your campground. Just sayin'. . .

Yep, Ruby's, it was still there as of last Sept, during the rally you can go to the inside upstairs bar and they have what they call, "shot girls", kind of like Hooters but you actually get to see their hooters when they bring you a drink, kinda like that new coffe shop out in Maine.

Last year the crowd was screaming for this guy to do a burnout, to which he complied. County was right behind him when he did. We watched him get locked up for DUI! Poor SOB!

I was in Ruby's last year, never heard any legends about after midnight establishments since they closed the whore houses in Deadwood in the 80's.

I don't know about at night, but I was there during the day last year and it was party time. I was sitting up on the second story porches that go up and down main street. Saw more than a couple of flashes and some bare azz. I had to watch out, tho, cuz the ole lady was with me. Some guy got arrested down in front for public drunkeness and there was a lot of drama. I'll be by there again this year. Staying in Hill City.

Was the guy with the DUI the same guy that was doing the "goose-step" during his sobriety test across the street?
