A group of friends are planning a trip to the USA later this year, and we will hire some Harleys, and I thought it may be a good idea to time it with a major ride. Apart from Sturgis and Daytona, what are the other major rides, and when do they take place?

Hi there Gezza: i just did a Google search of "bike week" and got a return of lots of happenings around the country besides Sturgis and Daytona.

Sounds like a good time. I'd like to do that in Australia and Europe someday.

I am also going to Italy in July, and will hire a Harley in Rome, for a week or so, and do the winding roads of the Amalfi Coast.

Go to www.hogsa.co.za to see about our own Africa bike week down here in sunny South Africa. At the current exchange rate, it is an absolute bargain. Beer at less than a dollar. Good upmarket accommodation at 50 dollars a night.
