sturgis main street

you know after alot of years going to sturgis.main street is not all that cool. best thing about the whole trip is the rideing. main street is just t-shirt heaven and the same one's that you can buy thru out the whole state.so it's no big deal if you are looking for the ladies the campgrounds is where all the good stuff is .to me main street has gotten a little dull the same thing . oh i love going but the back roads is what it is all about.and that is what it's about the ride.hell you buy a t-shirt and never leave your house. i put a 1000 to 1500 miles every year when i go up there.and have a blast there is just to much to see and to many roads to spend any time down town.

Main street is something you have to experience at least once. The thousands of bikes are a sight to see.

Just a head's up for those of us that didn't go this year and view the webcams. My virus software informed me of a trogan on the webcam site. Don't know if it was hacked or what. In all my years viewing it I never had that happen before. Hopefully they've taken care of it.

I went to Sturgis. Stayed at Rapid City. Didn't even bother going near Sturgis. Had a good time at the Black Hills H.D. Lots of good vendors and then went west on 90 and stopped at another place. Was not too busy there but the folks had a lot of time to spend talking with you. Really enjoyed it when a manufacturer or shop has the time to talk and explain.

Went to the Full Throttle Monday and left about 6pm. The traffic trying to get to the campgrounds extended from Lazelle St to at least a mile east on I-90! Unbelievable!

I don't think the numbers were down. The rides through the Black Hills were very congested.

I spent a few evenings sitting on main street watching the world go by. It is something you have to experience. The weather was great, and as usual there are a lot of interesting sights. The only night traffic was out of control was the night the KISS concert was on, traffic was backed up everywhere, otherwise it was normal Sturgis traffic.

My 9th this year and have to say that attendance was way low. Off by 30% is what I heard locally. I was actually able to ride out to the drag strip last Tuesday without meltin down the motor in traffic on Lazelle. I think folks are riding more now and avoiding the entire week long stay. I'm about 200 miles from there and there was a noticable decrease in the amount of bikes in town and on the road this year.
I'll agree that it's tee shirt heaven and other than that it's the same ol same to me. I did enjoy the drags though. If you've never gone do it...it's a sight to see and you need to experience it but after 9 years the new has worn off for me. Just my .0200

I went for the first time this year. If you don't like waiting in line, then I suggest going early in the week. It seemed like it just built up steam as the week went on.

If attendance was really down 30% (I was told 6%) then I would hate to be there then. It was plenty busy for me.

I agree, the best part is the ridding. I actually had the best time getting there & ridding home.
