Route Advice

Our planned return to N. Nevada from Rapid City starts off with a stop at Devils Tower then on to Cody,Wy for the night. Next day we would head to Red Lodge, Beartooth, NE entrance of Yellowstone down to Jackson.
As an alternate we thought of heading from Devils Tower up to Little Big Horn then up to Billings, Mt for the night.
Next day would be to Red Lodge (Beartooth), then continue to Jackson thru Yellowstone.
Other than Little Big Horn what's the best route.
Been to Cody and don't need to see the museum again.

Not sure if you've headed out already.
Both routes are good choices. The actual ride to the Little Big Horn is a bit lacking in scenery, at least compared to the southern route. There are fires burning around Red Lodge right now. I skipped it on my way back from Sturgis yesterday (went early due to work) just in case they still had some roads closed.

BTW, the road from Hulett to Devil's Tower has a ton of tar snakes. It was in the 90s and the corners were dicey at best so slow down in the corners.

I assumeyou mean cheif joseph hwy out of cody heading west? NICE ROAD!! next time keep going west into Oregon through idaho and cut south through winemucca. sorry so late, don't pay much attn to sturgis posts but it is winter in oregon and I will read anything till I see the sun again!!
