Glenco or the Chip?

My buddy wants to stay a couple of nights at one or the other. Which one is going to be the best for a party atmosphere and what can one expect to pay for individual nights of camping at either one. I figure he will be good for 2 nights max before seeking a quieter camp ground.

the Chip or Glencoe

Your question may be moot as neither campground sells single night passes. It's all or nothing for both the Chip and Glencoe.

the wife and I stayed at the chip the first three years. It was great. The only complaint is Ross and Rotten. These guys were way tired by year two. Same corney jokes etc. A couple of barefoot dolts from the "ozarks of Missouri" as they said repeatedly. What bugged me the most was their trashing of the President. No matter how you feel about him, screaming that bush is a Di*khead wasn't the least bit funny. I didn't spend two weeks, riding 3500 miles round trip for redneck political commentary. Otherwise, no complaints. Facilities are great, entertainment was second to none.

The thing about glencoe and the chip is that you have to ride through town to get there. unless you want to traverse dirt roads. Town is always a major traffic jam.

You can buy single night tickets to tent camp.

I've never stayed at glenco but i hear good things.

Last year we stayed at the broken spoke. Mainly because we decided to go late and didn't want to pay the big bucks for the chip or glencoe. I'll not make that mistake again.

hope this helps.

My Strugis experince has gotten easier since I quit going to the east side of town. I do miss the FLS. But to get over there is headache. If its your 1st time, I would check it out.
Now I just park on the edge of town and walk.

As for single night camping check the websites. I think you can do it at the Chip, if you buy a concert ticket. But as said, both places have typically been paying for the whole 2 week$.

The Chip allows single night camping. All concert tickets include camping for the evening of the concert.

We camped for the whole week on Dog street. Saw several stage dances after the concert on each end of Cat street.
