Best way to lower street glide?

1. Harley lower shocks + Harley lower/shorter front springs?

2. White Brothers?

3. How low can you go and not cause problems? Getting for the wife and she is about 5.5 and complains about tip-toeing. I think an inch or 1.5 inch would do the trick.

Alternative is Heritage Classic which IS lower but we prefer the Street Glide look and ride. I drive a 07 ultra.

If it were my bike, i would just get the H-D or progressive front lowering kit. Also think about a low profile seat. That is often overlooked when looking for a lower to the ground feeling. You may give up a little comfort but it will lower you. Corbin could help you out if you wanted a lower seat thats more forward. IMHO i would not lower the rear anymore. the SG already comes with 1 inch lowering shocks on them. Any shorter the ride will suffer

Roof,i would Go with the 2'' lowering kit from proggressive for the front. Then get on ebay and look for the r.u.b. rear lowering kit. I would go with the 1" for the rear. Your ride will still be good considering her size and weight. You can do some final adjustments with the air pressure in the rear shocks. good luck. Booggerbe

Lower the front one inch and switch the tires to Avons. The rear tire 140/90-16 is about a 1/2 lower than the dunlop height wise and is 3mm wider. I found out the hard way. Metzlers are about 1/2 inch taller than the Dunlop and 6mm wider. This caused a rub issue when I went 1/2 lower on the shocks.

I used the HD lowering kit and then the HD low profile rear air shocks. Not cheap. I think MSRP $275 for the shocks, $100 for the lowering kit, and if you let the dealer do it, about four hours labor. Not a Street Glide - mine is a Road King. An inch or so all the way around.

Street Glide is already lowered slightly from the factory, if you continue to lower more you'll be taking a lot of suspension out of your ride in addition to reducing your lean angles even further. IMO, any of the softail frames would be better for your wife if "tip-toeing" is a concern. I would think the Deluxe would be worthy of serious consideration.
