Lowering my Softail

I put a side mount license plate on my Softail Standard. Cut off the plastic plate holder under the tail light. Now the bike definitely needs to be lowered to tuck the rear tire more up under the fender. My question is can I lower the rear and not lower the Front? If I only lower the rear how will that effect the bikes handling?

I have done the same. Lowered the rear and not the front.

No problem.

Thanks guys. I may do the front later but I was going to wait and do Twisted spokes on the front, pull the lower legs and black powdercoat em, then lower the front all at the same time over the next winter. Makes more sense to wait and do it all as long as lowering the rear doesnt mess up the handling.

Thanks,
