Rattle Help

After lots of looking I have finally traced an annoying rattle on the front of my FatBoy .. it is the 'floating' caliper on the front brake ... it seems to be looser than it should be on the pins .. the pins (bolts) themselves are torqued to the proper spec, but the caliper floats to the point that in off throttle conditions it rattles a fair bit .. if I just touch the brake lever it stops ... anyone have any thoughts??

Cheers

Thanks NavyCPO ... the thread seems to refer to a clip to reduce the 'scuffing noise' .. in my case that noise is not the problem, this noise is a rattle .. the spring clip is there, altho after thinking about it, it is possible the clip may not have enough 'spring' and perhaps a new clip is in order .. will try it

Thanks

I think if you follow this thread it will further explain your issue. Not sure you saw it in the previous thread I posted and followed it. Let me know!

Thanks

Yes I did see the tread you referred to in your previous .. and NO that is NOT the issue ..
that thread speaks to a 'rubbing' which is normal as disk brake dust builds up ..

my problem WAS a true rattle .. checked the spring and it was weak and allowing the outside pad to rattle .. put in a new one and viola problem gone .. went for a really nice ride tonight ... temps here in the high 80's with a light westerly breeze and no rattle ... sincere thanks for your interest and help ...

Cheers
