Wider tire on a Wide Glide

I've got an 03 Wide Glide with 25,000 miles. Stock rear tire is a 150/80 HB-16. I got 13,000 on the Dunlop’s and I replace them with a set of Metzler 880 and will probably get about the same mileage. I thought I might try a little wider Metzler. Question is, has anyone tried a 160/80 HB-16 on the rear and if so, did you have to do any modifications? I have enough clearance on the outside diameter so it won't hit the fender. I'm not sure about the width. By measuring the tire in the store, it looks like it would just clear the belt guard. I'm afraid when air is added, it may hit the guard. Wanted to see if anyone had tried it and what problems did you run in to if any?

Most people indicated it would fit (tightly), but you must do something with the bolts that attach the fender to the fender stut. Some people mention grind them down to the minimum to flipping the around (nut on the outside instead of inside). They will hit the larger tire to potentially disastrous consequences.
