D401 vs D402

Whats the difference between these two dunlop tires. It seems to me only a weight increase with the 402. I don't do much two up riding so I'm looking for the best tread life. thanks

murphdog wants to know where he is and how he got here
The 402 is for touring bikes (except for the MH90-21), it comes in MT90B16 and MU85B16 sizes. The 401 is for "cruiser" bikes, it comes in 90/90, 100/90, 130/90 and 150/90 sizes.
The D402 is the only tire approved by Harley-Davidson for its touring bikes.
The D401 is the only tire approved by Harley-Davidson for its cruiser models.
