Comments on Michelin Commander tires
Anybody tried the Michelin Commander tires on an FLH or other bike? Surdke has them at a pretty good price.

I put a new set on recently but only have 600 miles on them. Like 'em a lot though.Greatly improved the handling of my RK.

I have about 9,000 miles on the rear and it looks able to get at least 6 more. I have Commander II's. I commute on my bike and used Contis before because I could get about 10,000 miles on a rear so I could get away with 2 tires a year.
The Michilins were cheaper and there was a lot of hype so I wanted to try them. Here is my honest opinion.
They handle real well on curves and track only ok going straight, but good enough. About like a Lop. The rubber is hard as hell and you can feel every little pebble and bump. I have noticed they are slick and don't grab as well in puddles when you take off, but seem to be ok in the rain.
I don't care about a smooth ride, cause it's a motorcycle after all and will probably buy them again because of the great mileage they are getting. As a handling tire, and overall performance, they are only mediocre and the other popular tires are as good or better to much better, but again, good enough. Depends on what you're after. I have a couple of buds that got them on at work and they say the same thing I do. They need the mileage too though.

What kind of Air Pressure you keep in the tires ?? Sounds like too much...

Fixed it for ya.
The dunlop elite 3's are a pretty good tire and they get good mileage. Made in USA too.

Metzler is coming out with a long lasting tire called the Triple 8 to compete with the Commander II. DS brought one by the shop for us to look at and gave us some stickers. Nice tread design. Don't know how much they will sell them for yet.
