Progressive's Monotube Install
Here is my dilemma; 2007 FatBoy, I am installing Hawg Halters 4 degree FatBoy Triple Trees along with Progressive Suspension’s Monotube shocks. The triple trees have 2” tube insert plugs that thread into the upper tree so the top of the tree is smooth and has no bolt that would normally thread into the top of the fork slider. With the Hawg Halters FatBoy trees the fork tube plug is removed and the fork slider threads onto the above mentioned 2” tube inserts.
In order to install the Monotube shocks the fork tube plugs need to be removed. Hawg Halters says I can do this without any problems. Progressive is telling me if I do that the shock will not work right.
So before I take the fork tube plugs off the Monotube’s I would like to know if anyone else has done this install and who is right Hawg Halters or Progressive, and is there any tricks or other things I need to watch for during this install. Thanks for any input guys.
