Tire type and size question

I currently have Dunlops on my Heritage and want to change over to the Michelins. I unfortunately had to replace the rear tire in an emergency last year while on a trip and it still has fairly good tread but the front needs to be replaced. My question: Has anyone ever ran the Michelin on the front while still running the Dunlop on the rear or any other different tire combo and how did it effect the handling? I really don't want to have to change the new rear tire if I don't need to it still has at least 10k miles left on it.
Let me add this Has anyone change the rear tire to a wider tire 150 series without any draw backs?

replace both tires always ! doing a mis matched set of tires on a bike is not a smart ot safe thing to do!

on a car you can get away with it......dont do it on a bike just sell the dunny on craigslist

Michilen is a good choice

If you wanting to go to a 150 there should be no problems in doing so. The 150 is the max size you can go on a stock 3" rim

As for mixing Mich with Duns not such a good idea, you'd be better off on a total changeover.

Heres a site I use quite often when I am wanting to know the suggested sizes of tires to rims & vise versa
