Sudden front brake loss

I have a 2001 electra Glide that has aftermarket controls and calipers. Brake fluid looks cloudy. You can apply the front brake and get full lever and stopping but if you hold it for a few more seconds the lever will completely let go and no longer have any front braking.

My question is - Is this caused by contaminated brake fluid? Master cylinder seals, sticky caliper pistons or all of the above?

Thanks

If you do not have any visible leaks at the calipers or brake lines....then you have an internal leak at the master cylinder. You can rebuild it or replace it. Then flush out the old fluid and bleed.
The master cylinder is bypassing the fluid due to bad seal or scored bore.

No significant leaks of brake fluid. I assumed the master cylinder needed to be rebuilt and have the kit to do so. Wondered about the cloudiness of the fluid and if that could be causing the same symptom.
