What a difference

Got rid of the sh%#ty, undersize, weak sidewall Metzlers on my RG and installed Avon VenomX. I know new tires always feel good, so I waited until I had some miles on them to comment. The Avon is much more stable (less sidewall flex) when scraping the floor boards, smoother ride, good in the rain, and the 150 rear fills the fender as it should. I ran Avons in the 70's and early 80's (liked them) and switched to Metzlers around 1986. My last set came from Brazil, and those were worse in the rain than the stock Dunflops. Sidewall flex could really be felt (excessive, scary) in the curves. Customer service @ Metz is non-existant, so I'm done with 'em. I'm confident, because I'm dilligent about checking/running correct pressure, that mileage will be acceptable. Highly recommend Avons.

i wish avon made more tires for the 200 rear. but i did just put a avon cobra tire in the rear. and they look to be made better than a metzler.. looks good on the bike too..
