Uneven front tire wear

My 2006 Softail Standard has a problem since new that I can't seem to fix. From the seat, the right side of the front tire wears faster than the left side. When I was getting a new set of tires last fall, I asked the mechanic replacing my tires what would cause this, and the assclown said "too many right hand turns". Pretty good answer considering I was talking to an employee of a stealer.

I have always been mindful of tire pressure. I have adjusted fall-away strictly by the manual. I have even replaced front fork oil by the manual, and nothing seems to help. Any ideas?

How bad is it? If it's minor, maybe it's because the road slopes left for drainage.

I've wondered if that should be a consideration. To answer your question as to how bad is it, I have about 3500 miles on the front now and it is pretty easy to visually see the uneven wear. I will take measurements and maybe a pic when I go home after work and post them.

Don't know the guy, but I wouldn't consider him an ass clown for giving you a perfectly valid answer. If you make more right turns then left, the right side will wear faster then the right. Speed through turns is also a factor. If you go through right turns faster then left, the right side will wear faster. If the right turns you make are longer then the right, the right side will wear faster.

If you run saddlebags, if you have more weight on the right side then the left, then the bike will ride with a slight lean which will wear the right side more then the left.

If you don't sit dead center in the seat (which most people don't), then the bike will ride with a slight lean to whichever side you sit, resulting in more wear on that side.

If he would have answered me explaining what you just did, I wouldn't consider him an assclown. But he answered like he really didn't give a damn about my question, hence the assclown moniker.

Worn, low, or mismatched fork oil levels will cause uneven tire wear also, and yes, it can come from the factory not being filled adequately.
