Mileage on Metzler ME880 rear tire

What kind of mileage are you getting with ME880s? I was told about 10k was about the norm. I am at 7k and looks like it will be time before long. I ride 2 up about 1/3 of the time.
I am 240 and the Mrs is between 135 and 180 (I know where in between she is but I'm not going there) Any thoughts will be welcome in regard to mileage on the tires.
Thanks

Getting 7K is good for me,I often burn up a rear in 5K but I have twisty mountain roads out where I live that are also pretty rough and I ride hell bent for leather lol.
It really varies from one rider to another depending on riding style, weight, two up or solo, weather, road conditions and so on so it's hard to say just what it should be for you.
Keep your air pressure up to 50lbs and checked weekly for best mileage life.
I like the Metzlers handling better than the Dunlops, some say they last longer than the OEM Dunlops others say not but I get about the same with either tire.
I just had a new Metz put on,had 7K on the last one and it looked like it might go another 1K but I was heading out for a weekend two up so it had to go.

I've got almost 8K on my rear 880 and it looks really good yet. I suspect at least 2K more, probably even more.

m880

I'm getting 10K on the rear (140/90/16) on a '96 Road King.

I ride one up, and mostly hiway. My Metz has 6500 miles on it and has plenty of tread left. The problem is that, due to mostly hiway riding, the center of the tire is beginning to get flattened. This creates a slight ridge on each side of the center of the tire.
So, the tire will be replaced some time over the winter. But, it still has plenty of tread.

I think that 40 PSI would be better for the rear tire.

Isn't that what the manuf. reccomends for them?

50psi max is on the sidewall and the website says for longest life run the max, this is on the heavy bikes like my E-Glide.
I'd probably run 40 in a Sportster,maybe 45 in a Dyna.
The dealer where I buy mine always puts 50 in a Metz 880 going on a touring bike.

It depends on the particular size tire.

Metzeler produces tires in both metric and alpha-numeric sizes. The PSI requirements are different between the two.

If not sure what PSI to use, it would be best to check with Metzeler. I am sure they will ask what bike you are riding and what tires and what sizes you are using and how much load is on the bike (two-up, etc.) so that they can give you the most accurate suggestion.

Cheers

From Metzler's website for Electraglide ME880.

Recommended Minimum Tire Pressures (PSI)
ME880 Solo 2 Up Light 2 Up Heavy
Front 38-40 40-42 40-42
Rear 44-46 46-48 48-50
