Dunlop D407 Warranty Replacement

09 FLHTCU delivered April 09 now with 6000 miles - ride more, type less

I just had my front tire replaced under warranty with a new D408. Yes the moco is covering the cupping problem. Don't let the stealer tell you otherwise.

How bad did they deduct for mileage (wear)?

I took the bike to the dealer, showed them the tire, they called the moco, the moco authorized warranty replacement @ no charge

Last year when my neighbor had a tire warranteed, they deducted for wear and added labor costs.
His free tire cost him $149.

That's why I asked.

I can't wait to show these posts to my neighbor.

I razzed him pretty hard about his "free" ($149) tire! LOL

Took delivery of my '09 ultra the 1st week in June, front tire is a D408F. They must have been aware of the problem.

I have a friend with 8000 miles on his Ultra and has the cupping problem with the D407.

He talked with Dunlop out at Sturgis and they said that they recommended to HD before production started that the tread pattern be reversed, but HD wanted it their way.

Sounds a little like "I told you so...."

Anyway, after the cupping problem arose HD agreed to the tread pattern change and word from both Dunlop and the HD reps at the rally was that the defective tires would be warrantied.

Hey, I have to 407s and the cupping issue as well. Does cupping cause an issue with traction? Or any other safety issue?
