180 / 18 tire Opinions

I use a 180/55/18 (Metzler ME880 now) on the rear of my Deuce. I'm about to replace it but would very much appreciate opinions or experiences on other popular 180 mm tires Metzler/Dunlop/Avon/Bridgestone. My Metzler wore very badly on both sides of about a 2" center section. Some of this could be from under-inflation at some point. Who has had very good service and wear from what brand?

Avon makes a 180 X18 and txchop has been happy with using Avon's...
