Replacement rear tire for 2003 Ultra
It looks like I am only going to get around 7K or so our of my rear OEM Dunlop. I would like to stay with Dunlop Thin white wall but would like to get a few more miles. Does Dunlop make a tire that will last a little longer in a thin white wall?

What kind of air pressure do you run in the tire?? How often do you check it?? I can always get over 11,000 on my bike which has a chopped tour pak on it. That's riding two up and sometimes pulling a small trailer. If I run a Dunlop 491, I can add at least a couple thousand more miles.
Lots of guys running Metzler ME880's with good luck.
The first question though, is why your mileage is so low.

I am running 40lbs in the rear and 38 in the front. Thats what someone else told me to put in the tires.
Half the time two up.

That's good cold pressure for the Dunlops as long as it's maintained there. It's gotta be either roads or riding style then assuming tire pressure is good.

In this part of CA we have a lot of chip sealed roads. They tend to be a bit rougher so that might have something to do with it.
This is the stock OEM tire I thought Dunlop might have another tire other than OEM that gets better mileage.
Thanks

wow, 7k! Just replaced the back one, 22.5kms, that's what....13k in miles? It was the stocker Dunlop D402. Ran it at 38psi solo, 40 loaded.
Bought another 402. I like them. Need to give' em a couple of miles to warm up first thing. Real good in the rain at freeway speeds..
Hey Ed, trying to locate some cable lube........whatthehell, everyone's sold out up here, can't believe it, anyhow, heard ATF is a good substitute. Whatdayathink?

Should be lasting longer. My 402's on my RKC usually go 12k or so on the rear. I have 34k on the original front and it still looks good.

I assume you mean to lube throttle and/or clutch cables. I've never used ATF for that but don't see why it won't work. I use stuff called Tri-Flow and can find it at a lot of building supply stores. Any light oil would work, even primary lube.
