I read some threads on machining rear caliper .125, buy left side spacer
from dealer. but if I buy a 03 or later caliper will I still have to machine???

That's a good question..............not sure if that is where they gained the spacing or not. Awful lot of money just to gain an 1/8". Why not just file the caliper down a bit or have it machined? A whole lot cheaper.

If you check the part numbers for rear wheels, you will see that the wheels changed in '03. I think they changed the offset of the hub.

According to my Indy, the '03 hubs will work so you don't have to alter the caliper. I have an '01 Fatboy and he took a set of takeoffs from an '03 Fatboy and sent them out to be chromed. I didn't challenge him since he's done it before - and I didn't care because the price was right.

Not sure what would happen with spacers, however.
