Dunlop Elite3 front with Stock rear?

Is it safe to run an Elite 3 on the front of my FXST with the stock 401 rear? I need a new front tire and want to go to an 90/90-21 front, but but my rear tire still has some good milage left in it. I was think to go to Metlzer but want to wait til thier QC improves. Might go with Elite 3 front and back if I have to.
Thanks for any help.

I am running the opposite (E3 back, stock on front) set up so I am not the one to answer your question, but I can tell you that I have run stock dunlops and metzlers and I think the e3 works better for me, handle well in the rain, grates, etc. next year e3's all around.

I run that combo. They work perfect together.

I just talked to an indy shop yesterday and made an appointment to have an E-3 put on the rear with the stock front. He said they are made to work with each other. I'll see shortly I guess.

My stock Dunlops on my 07 Deuce will need replaced soon and I was thinking of going with a SE 180 on the rear and an E3 90/90 on the front. Any issues I may have with this combo?

Thanks.

I put E3's front and back on my Ultra this week and did a 500 mile ride today. I cannot believe the difference in the ride quality. I wish I had done this the day they came out, best ride quality that I have ever had on the Ultra. Never caught a groove, very smooth ride.

Cool

I am thinking the same as above post for the Deuce...a 180 SE rear to avoid additional expense and a 90/90/21 E3 front so sure would appreciate any input for us. I have never seen a comment on the SE 180 at all. John
