I bought my bike in April of '05 and right about a year later noticed the chrome starting to lift around the nipple holes on both the front and rear wheels. Harley replaced them. This march I was cleaning the wheels and guess what? Bubbles in the chrome again. My dealer said that they would contact Harley but that it was usually a one time thing. Another new set of wheels went on the bike two weeks ago, again paid for by Harley. My wifes '06 Deluxe had same thing happening and is now waiting on new wheels at Harleys expense. I like the profile wheels but there is definantly a quality issue involved with them.

Angry 05 15th Anniversary FatBoy in the UK

My 05 15th anniversary fatboy has done 7000 miles from new, never been wet or had winter road salt on the wheels, spends winter under a cover in a dry garage yet i am currently on my third set of wheels. The half alloy half chrome rim bubbles and cracks where the chrome covers the alloy, the dealer says its a widespread problem on this model but Harley Davidson say its not.
The dealer is quite happy to keep replacing them as he gets paid every time.
The current set of wheels has done 500 dry miles and as i was cleaning the bike on Sunday i noticed the rear was starting to go again, where will it end?.
