Been using the Z pads for years. I just installed some EBC Kevlar pads and I like em. They are even more quiet then the Z pads. And seem to stop just as good.
BTW I run a stock rear pad so it won't lock up on the panic stops.

I'm also an EBC fan. At 19 bucks a pair, you can't beat 'em, IMO.
