Terminal Velocity update

We have been told that the TVFM220 module used on the 2006 Dyna will work on the 2007 models.

E-mialed direct parts, no response.
Would not recommend TVII or Direct parts.

Have you CALLED direct parts? In all fairness, is it direct parts that should be supporting the TVII unit? How was the price? Did they deliver it in a timely manner? I would suggest calling them AFTER the holiday weekend and seeing if they can help.

I am sorry to hear that you had a problem getting it to work but that isn't Direct Parts fault. I would take up the issue with Terry Components.

To be fair it was the best price i could find but was not delivered in a timely manner and I should be able to e-mail them and get some kind of response.

IMO, email is the least reliable way to contact anyone. If you want a response, pick up the phone and call. Direct Parts has their phone numbers in the first post in this thread, including a tech number.

Email is Dependant on too many things. You have to assume the email got to its intended party but have no actual proof it was received. A typo in the email address, a faulty email server at either end, spam filters, computer problems and many other variables could have caused your email to be lost. If you want to complain about someones customer service at least have the courtesy to ensure they had the opportunity to try to help, pick up the phone.

When did you email us and Terry? If it was after hours or late on Friday, you would not receive a response from either of us until after the holiday. Don't you believe our employess deserve the same holidays as you do? I would imagine that Keith is taking a well deserved break after Sturgis also. Keith fully supports his products and gives us his full support.

Since it "does not work well on your bike at all" contact us during normal business hours on Tuesday and we will handle it.

Actually I find that e-mail is very reliable and why post an e-mail address on a web site as a contact if it is as unreliable as you say.

Yes I do beleive everyone deserves a holiday. Direct parts was e-mailed a week ago thursday and terry was e-mailed on tuesday and thursday. I am sorry I have a job and unable to scurry to a phone at anytime during the day.

I can't speak to your particular situation, but I believe quite a number of us here have found CyberDave and Direct Parts to be very customer service oriented with great prices. I'd think there would be better ways to handle your problem than blasting a good, site supporting dealer here on the list.

So since CyberDave is a sponsor I am not allowed to say anything bad about him.
All I have done es relayed a specific incidence that happened to me and given my recommendation based on that incidence.

I didnt blast anyone. I have done business Direct parts in the past and other than being slow about processing my orders I have had no problems.
Why would I do business or recommend that business if I feel I have not recieved quality service.

No one has stopped you from voicing your opinion.

You stated...

From your own admission it seems that you based this on a single email to each one of them. Before you come back with I sent 2 or 3 etc... I don't care if you sent 25, it didn't mean enough to you to even pick up a phone. So you were at work, we all work and we all find the time. You do get a lunch at work, NO?

Sounds like you just want to complain about it rather than get any resolution to the problem. If you truly wanted to solve the issue, you would have made a better effort. Instead you blast the company that sold it to you even though it is not their responsibility to make it work on your bike, at the best price you could find I might add. You are so caught up in complaining about it that even when they offer you help you reply with a smart ass remark.

If you can't get to a phone, send him a PM. His response certainly implied he would try to help.

I tried to offer a little advice about email not being the most reliable method. Well guess what, I work on email systems for my day job all the time and they are not as reliable as you would think. Why post it on a website?? Because it can be a way of answering the simple questions or establishing a contact.

Spoke with Dave at Direct parts about the problem with the Terminal Velocity unit, he called Terry while I was on the phone. After a short conversation about the problems Dave e-mailed me a return authorization and made me a very happy customer!!!

Just for info to all.... The TV unit is not having good success on the 07's. As for Direct Parts, we order often enough from them and always have had good pricing, delivery, and customer service.
