Question for Dave P

The new features are great and I am glad to see the photo gallery re-opened. Is there any way you could link a particular members gallery to their user name or profile.

Additional questions.

I noticed I don't have a profile picture link in my User CP and Bean does. His upgrade was done automatically when he paid thru paypal, mine was done manually did that make a differance?

Also what is the size of the Avatar, I noticed it say 19.5K still and it said increased avatar size. Is it increased or is that now with a membership you get 19.5?

Thanks, Great site and happy to be a member.

Yes,

You can upload bike pictures into the Main Photo Gallery. The system will automatically dump all of your photos into an album under your username.

Then, if you would like to create a Personal Photo Album to include other pictures. Click on the Personal Albums Index, and you can upload photos to there.

To link it to your signature, just open your album, whether it be the one in the Main Gallery, or your Personal Album and save the URL and create a link like our world famous moderator Carrie, FTBY24, did in her signature.

Thanks, just an oversight on my part. I have been busy changing settings with all of the different usergroups and overlooked the User Profile Picture. I have since added it to all paid usergroups. You and Bean are both in the Sponsors Usergroup, thats why you have italicized usernames.

Normal users that are REGISTERED and are not paid members, will not be able to use avatars. If you were registered PRIOR to the changeover and you had an avatar, it will remain UNTIL I refresh the entire user database to reflect the new settings. I will eventually do this, but it requires me to pull the forums down to go through all of the database tables. I will, however, eventually do this within the week.

All forum members that upgraded to REGISTERED PAID USERS will have the ability to use avatars, signatures, downloads, etc as well as the profile pictures if they so desire to.

I currently have the avatar size settings to 125X125 and 20000k and Profile pictures at 640X480 and 200000k for all subscribed users. If someone thinks that the size amounts arent adequate, I am all ears.

Please do not hesitate to shoot me an email using the CONTACT US form...

thanks

Dave, Thanks, I linked my album. One other question that might pertain to the upgrade. I tried to add an attachment to a post today and got the message that I exceeded the 10 megabyte storage limit. I clicked the error link to view all of my attachments and deleted over a hundred old attachments. When I tried to attach again, I got the same error message.

Smokey's custom title brings up an interesting question.

What happens if someone donates and then gets banned?

Contributing to keep the VTF alive doesn't give anyone immunity against future actions.

There are only a few offenses that'll get you banned. Application of a small amount of common sense will virtually insure you never end up on the sh!t list.

I have been a lurker for quite some time and never felt the need to really post.

I have noticed though that the people that did get banned were on the receiving end of a moderator's bad day.

For example, someone said something that a moderator took totally out of context and banned them for a sentence that disected to make the banned person look bad.

Offences that should get someone banned (like posting links to videos of people getting killed, dropping names of people that are "prospecting for the Hell's Angels" while they are an authorized Harley Dealer owner, distributing hacked software) are not even getting their posts deleted.

So I must ask, who's common sense should we be applying - someone that is helpful when ever they get the chance but makes a bad comment on the wrong day or someone that doesn't care about this place except trying to win a popularity contest?

Oh boy...I can't wait for this one.

BTW - I've never seen someone get banned on a "first offense" - One usually gets warned and if you continue to be a smart a$$...well, you get what you get. ...and there is usually some history that you may not be aware of.

Dr. Death, what part of that sentence do you not understand? Since how your not a paid member, it's easy for you to post your thread and accuse or pass judgement on something you dont have full detail on. Not saying you don't have an opinion, but show proof of your examples. As of now, it's hear say.
