Victory??? YUCK!!!

I would've picked Big Dog. At least it doesn't have a snowmobile engine in it.

Especially those Jackpots. Who would want to buy one of them? I bet anyone that buys one probably also has a Mustang at home.

Messing with you Jersey.

Just threw the link on the V-twin Forum for their reading/viewing pleasure. It's in the Victory Forum, but those HD folk will read it and weep.
Why would we weep? It's a list from Forbes magazine. LOL. They can't even identify it correctly. I'll wait for the list from Home and Garden magazine. That will really give it credibility.

I know it means a lot to Vic folks so that they may justify their purchase and tender egos. Why is it always a Harley thing with you guys?

Never felt the need to justify my purchase and I'm pretty confident that my ego is in tact and doing fine. It's called giving you shite. Lighten up AZ. Good to see that you drop in over at the VMC. I guess you must be eyeing a Vic. Good choice. It doesn't hurt to have both, just ask John R. As a matter of fact, I'd love to have a RK Custom in my garage. Unfortunately, I can't justify having 2 bikes right now.

Ha! You forget that HD made snowmobiles too? Or how about bowling balls and pins? Oh ya, they also made motor homes! Worse yet. It took them how long to figure out how to make a bike that didn't leak oil? Then made them with faulty bearings. If not for Victory, you would be still riding with decades old technology that couldn't get out of its on way. Or stop for that matter. What difference does it make what you ride. It was a choice you made. Brand bashing is getting real old.

Forbes

Did you know when old man Forbes was alive he was an avvid rider? How about that most of the editors and writers on staff are avvid riders? The fact that they think independently and view or review bikes based on their merit is a positive thing. There are many magazines who aren't honest or courageous enough to write against the most popular sold because it affects magazine sales. After all its a business.......

I think you'll find that AZRider has already owned a Victory.

Forbes

I've got nothing against the Victory bikes - they're very nice. That said, somebody else said it best when they wrote that this list has about as much credibility as an American Iron list of the 10 best vacuum cleaners.

Granted that this is just another list and on someone else's list a Victory may not even appear. This thread was just intended as a jab and it sounds like some folks have taken it too seriously. I did put it in the Vic forum, so it wasn't like I was trying to step out of bounds with it. Also, it is Forbes magazine and to say that they don't have any credibility is ridiculous. Sounds like I should take your word or anyone else's word that it's not the "Best American Bike" b/c you have a lot more credibility than Forbes magazine right? Sure, they're not a biker mag, but I wouldn't discount their research and opinions regardless of the product they review. I suppose if an HD bike made the Forbes list, you HD owners would've been praising Forbes for recognizing HD right? The point really was to show that Victory is getting a lot of positive recognition, whether it be Forbes or ANY bike mag.

Forbes

It doesn't bother me at all that Victory took a spot on the list - like I said, I think Victory makes very nice bikes. I'm not an "All HD all the time" guy. I just don't look to Forbes magazine for their technical knowledge of motorcycles or automobiles. It strikes me as being much like such a list in Maxim. The whole list looks "off" to me. Yamaha R1 as "fastest bike"? Shouldn't that be a Hayabusa or a ZX14? Suzuki S83 as best "city bike"? I would think something a bit more nimble would take that one, like a Suzuki SV650 or one of the dual purpose bikes.

I dunno...it's not something I really care to argue over.

Congratulations. Your brand has come a long way.

I am a Harley rider. I would like to see a new brotherhood, as Harley had with Indian in the 1950's. I feel clean competition enhances the breed. You could make a very strong case that Harley now has a 6-speed trnasmission because Victory offered one on numerous models.

Glad to share the road with you.
