HD is NOT the originator of the V-Twin. That honor belongs to Indian.

Indian produced the first V-Twin bikes in 1907, made by George Hendee and Carl Hedstrom. HD didn't make their COPY until 1909.

Yea right! Economy at a record low, Harley Sales are off just like everybody else. I know the person who has been waiting for a Harley will forego the premium ride to settle for a Victory that is priced nearly the same. That is the ugliest selection of bikes I have ever seen and I would like for Victory to succeed. If it's an American brand I am for it but seriously, Victory is not a threat to Harley Davidson.

I agree that Victory is bringing their "A" game and is offering a nice line-up for 2010, but without even considering the new Vic's, when I saw HD's new 2010 models, my immediate thought (after I stopped yawning) was how much of a hit HD's stock price was going to take come Monday morning. HD is being too complacent imo...

LOL!! i doubt the new Vics will put much of a dent in the HD sales. they are nice and i'm glad Vic came out with them, but HD will make over 200k motorcycles this year compared to Vics 7,500. and as a Vic rider i'm glad i don't see one in every garage. all luxury items stock has been suffering. HD's problem IMO is oversaturation of the market. everyone now owns one and they couldn't keep that up forever.
