2008 Victory Jackpot " Ness Models"

What do you fellows like / dislike about the 2008 Victory Arlen and Cory Ness Jackpots?
I kinda like their style, they seem to ride really nice. I am concerned at their msrp 24k that they are really pricey and resale will be dramaticlly lower ( not that I would sell it) In fact I would pay18-20k for a new 08 when the 09 came out unless the 09 have the 106 engine aboard!!

Either way, I would like to add one in the next few years to the stable, but they aren't HDs so value is in teh eye of the payee!!

They got '07 models at Arlen Ness headquarters in Dublin, Ca. for only $19,000! They look like awesome bikes! Mostly Victory bikes at Arlen now....hardly any Big Dogs, AIH etc....I sat on one of his Highliners yesterday, badd asss!! The sales lady says they now lease! LOL

Ness JP's

I'd definitely go for the hold over or even look around for a used one to take care of the resale issue up front.
I ride a Vegas and have demo'd JP's. I was really impressed with the handling. I doubt you'll find a better handling bike with that type wheel configuration.

I'd just make sure it's a model year with the diamond cut jugs. That's an expensive upgrade due to labor.

As much as I was impressed with the JP, I could not pull the trigger for the $$$ they wanted for them, I am getting a new FXSTC and have already gotten a new Inverted front end , front mag, new sheetmetal for paint and still cheaper than a new JP here in Vegas and that was not for the Ness version either.
I will add the 103 to the HD to help out the ponies, I want, which the JP had.So I may have about the same in the HD minus the taxes as a stock JP.

I think Victory has come a long way, but , I think my prejudice and availabity to customize a Harley took precedence in my decision.
Maybe down the road, I will pick up used one, if the price was right. I really did like them, but !!!!!!!

Arlen Ness Signature model

I got the opportunity to ride the Ness model for 2 days and really enjoyed the ride. The throttle response was impressive for a production bike. I loved the exhaust note too. I found it very easy to manuever even at slow parking lot speeds. People told me that the 250mm rear tire would be slow to react to turns but I come from a sportbike background and a sharp push on the handlebar coupled with a push on the opposite peg dropped it into the corner quite easily. I found it quite easy to control the lean angle with the throttle and enjoyed rolling it on aggressively to feel the engine drive through the turn. The front brake could use some more power. It felt underpowered but I think the 90/90 front tire didn't help much in this regard. The fat rear tire sure allowed me to use the rear brake more aggressively once I balanced the weight shift. I'm really stoked about the Jackpot model and am seriously considering purchasing the Vegas Jackpot just because of my experience with the Ness. The look of the Ness models (both the Cory and the Arlen) are beautiful in my eyes.

One thing I must say about the Victory bikes, specifically the Vegas, Vegas Jackpot and the Ness models is that I'm not in love with the styling of the swingarm (from an aesthetic view). It just looks cheesy to me. On the Vegas and the Hammer, I don't care too much for the rubber that surrounds the footpegs. They have a "cheap" appearance and would be something I'd swap out. Other than that, I was really impressed with the Victory bikes and have already been losing sleep dreaming of them.
