Sandhog wants to know Dino or Syn?
Damn just reading about this post burns my ass.Ive commuted from Orange county NY,into NYC for 35 years. My shortest commute was 79 miles one way.The problem is not overcrowed roads here, its the asshats who drive on them. All the neighboring states with the exception of Jersey have signs posted "KEEP RIGHT EXCEPT TO PASS" It always ends up being one jam car in the left lane that causes the issues. I always try my best to drive courteously and never ride along in the left lane except to pass.I have came upon cars riding right beside a car in the right lane for miles, and see them speed up the first chance I have to pass them on the right.
I don't tailgate or flash lights at anyone as its fairly useless to do anything. If Im on the sled its not an issue, but in the car it sure will piss you off. When I happen across one of these dudes that hog the left lane and speed up when I try to pass in the right lane ,Ill give them two chances just in case it was a mistake. After that they will take the ditch or I take their right fender.Ill always signal...LOL

I agree 100%. I think they're all members of the Anti Destination League. Can't bear to let anyone by.

And that right there is the crux of the matter. I once had the pleasure of being forced into a driver safety class and the first thing the instructor told everyone was that you can take some of the sweetest, kindest, most docile people in the world and when you put them behind the wheel of a car they are all of a sudden one step away from being the Devil himself. I have found this to be a pretty accurate statement.

Pretty much the same dynamic that lets the combination of anonymity and a keyboard turn people into jerks.
