Rte 1 starting in Salisbury MA and going north is one of my favorite rides. The road curves through Hampton Beach, NH and proceeds along the Atlantic coast into southern Maine. Views of the rocky coast and seaside villages abound and always provide great scenery. There are plenty of places to stop and have a cold beer and a bowl of chowder right under the beautiful New England sky!

Hands Down the Bavarian Alps from Garmisch all the way into Austria. The views are unbelievable, you twist along mountain vistas past gin clear and cold mountain lakes while looking at some of Germany's most beautiful little villages. Along the way you will pass castles, ruins from ancient Roman churches, farmhouses that sell home grown vegetables and a selection of meats. If you luck out you will find a yourself at a small gasthaus having an impromtu lunch and a glass of local wine or an amazing keller bier.
When your done relaxing you will blip the throttle on the downhill side of the mountain into Innsbruk Austria where you roll into one of the most beautiful valleys that you will EVER see! The rolling hills on each side of the winding road will be covered with wild mustard and tulips, then you cross a hill into a field just oustide of town filled with dairy cattle all wearing hand painted bells. Those bells will signal the town that the cows are coming home, as you sit at dinner in the local biergarten you will watch them parade though the town bells ringing, in a somber kind of way you'll realize those bells are also clearing any road gremlins away from your future two wheeled excursion. After a huge Bavarian meal and a stout coffee you can turn back into the sunset and head back through the Alps watching the sun set to your left over the most beautiful road in the world, just as you cross the last spanner bridge you can stop on the other side and see Austria behing you and home in front of you....that is when you're reminded of just how much two wheels will move you.
