And the story:--story starts April 06 i finally get out of debt my ex put me in and decided that i was going to get my dream bike, i have always been a fan of the dressers, as a kid i loved the bat wing fairing and the size of the bikes.
when i found this bike in the local trader it was about 35 miles south of me in York,PA and a guy was selling it for a friend who had a bad car accident and could no longer ride ( a story all in itself believe me).
i went down with a friend to look at it, this being my first Harley and first street bike , i wanted someone who was more familiar to look at it, with 53k+ all was good started ran sounded good, i bought it the next afternoon after work... it was black and dirty hadnt been cleaned since the last ride a year before, cleaned it up and rode it for the summer with no problems, it ran and handled like it was part of me, i was very happy till one night at the local bar someone asked which bike was mine, i said the big black Harley out side, he said which one there are 4 big black ones out there...
thats when i said thats it over winter i am going to paint it..
found the color i wanted talked to a pinstriper adn had it done, over the next summer i ran it to Illinois and back ( 2000 miles) and was very happy but wanted a bit more low end grunt for when my son rode with me, in went the EV-27 cam and a little carb tweaking, should never have done it, i wanted more power !!!! had to have it !!!!
so i talked with my buddy/mechanic and we agreed on an S&S sidewinder kit 93" to keep it a bit more reliable, so this past spring while he was putting the motor together i started cleaning up the chrome and aluminum for powder coat, me and my buddy did all the coating in his basement in an old oven with an Eastwood PC kit it works nice but limited by size i need a pro to do my engine guard lol, back to the motor...
went with a Wood W6H cam , Mikuni hsr42 and had the heads done with a mild port polish and one size bigger valves.. i have a set of fat boy rims to powder coat and put on yet, next spring maybe and try to finish the rest of the powder coat ( most of the chrome) .. thanks for checking it out showing pics from start to finish so far.
