The sprung seat on a softail is such asthetically motivated crap. I hate those things. The spring in the seat going one way the shocks going another. They should have put faux springs in the seat. Other than that Moco is taking necessary chances. With the older baby boomers transitioning into geriatrics they need to "hook" another generation. Plus with all the offerings now of "production" custom bikes that are actually affordable there are alot of options out there. They really need to come out with a distressed model ie., dings, scratches, fading, primer paint etc.. to give the impression of a well used machine along with a line of distressed clothing to give the rider the look of "well seasoned". Just a thought for 2011.

Thumbs up

I like it and I'm no spring chicken in age!
I agree the plastic cover looks cheap but how else is the MoCo gonna get ya to come back in to the stealership to spend at least 2 HD's (hundred dollars) a trip?? We live in a capitalist society and MoCo wouldn't survive if they didn't hit as many customer groups as they can and hit 'em hard.
MoCo did a pretty good job without having to retool everything (keeps their costs down) and I like the fact they keep hitting on nice heritage components like the springer front end. I am obviously a springer fan and was a bit worried they were going to let it fade away. (For awhile at least).
All this said I don't like that shiny front fender bracket at all!!
Just my $.02.
I'll get off my soapbox now but I have to say the view from it is cool!! LOL

One other thought. I like the sprung seat, did sit on it but have not ridden for any time. My local stealership did install a standard seat and you sit lower and back farther and it cover most of the cheap plastic cover.
Apes can be adjusted for more comfort too.

Huh, I'd like to see a picture of that. That sprung seat and that hideous plastic cover are the only things I don't like about that bike.
