They make them "sorta" cool on purpose!
I'm not a hater but the game has been to make them almost right for years. If they made the battery cover sexy out of the box you wouldn't cough up $389 to be the first guy with the steel chrome or powder coated one they will undoubtedly sell as an accessory by spring. Sort of like the afterthought of a tailight on bobtail fender softails for over ten years...
It's all part of the plan.

Man, I like this bike a lot. I may be selling/trading the Deuce for a black denim one. There isn't a whole bunch I would do to this except maybe some pipes/Stage I/Autotune and possibly different bars. Wonder if I could get the black V&H Shortshots Staggerds to work? The bars are growing on me but I wonder what other options would look good and be comfortable? Also, I'd have to add the new Diamond Black grips/shift peg/brake pedal/floorboards and black levers. Otherwise, this bike looks just great stock though. Oh yea.
Anyone looking for an ultra clean, low mileage 07 Deuce w/tons of extra parts?
Edit: HD has ABS listed as an available option. Can anyone confirm this?

Sorry guys, but this one just doesn't press any buttons with me. The riding position looks uncomfortable and my first thought was that it was...ugly. Ouch, that's hard to say. Maybe it will grow on me later, but initially, all I can say is..ugh.
I agree with the comments about "almost right" as they have been in this pattern for many years in order to sell more accessories. I really like most Harley designs, but this one seems like an afterthought and was comprised of a lot of existing parts. Just an opinion.

ditch the floor boards, ditch the sprung seat, and put one of the forcewinder type breathers on it, and you've got me.
But who's thinking up the names for some of these bikes, the Milwaukee High school special ed class? Rocker??? Nightster?? Crossbones??? Are you kidding me?

I got to sit on one of these this week. The bike looks phenomenal. The riding position, though, is a little awkward. I felt like I was sitting on the gas tank. You sit very high and very forward. I would need to lower it and probably adjust or change the handle bars so I could sit back a little.

There are plenty of bikes in the HD lineup that only have one disc brake....Some are heavier also. I had a Heritage and rode two up, filly loaded for long trips and never felt I was under braked.

MGBrat, I seriously thinking of going the vintage solo seat route. RolandSandsDesign has a kit, but they want like $600, adn you still have to build the seat. I like the cover though, made from fiberglass.
Did you make yours strickly from leather, or is a covering over a plate? Any ideas would be great...

Have a Night Rod special but thinking seriously about buying one of these, the single disk in no way compares to the twin disk on the VRSCDX however it is a smashing bike to drive

wow, really surprised of the negative feel toward the bones. i love it, obviously since i have one, and find the seat just right. if your used to a lower slung softtail seat it will definitely be higher for ya. i've riden it for several 125-150 milers non-stop and have had no issue with the seat. it actually feels better the more i ride it, maybe breakin it in. but like mountainman say, to each their own...that's what makes the world go round. stay safe and enjoy the ride...

MOCO poor attempt at getting in on custom bike boom, kind of reminds me of the kit cars of the 70's, HD mix and match jedi mind tricks. next thing will be Members Only Jackets with HD logos LOL, But to each his own, I'm sure some don't like my FLHX thats why the sell more then one bike so we all have a choice.

Hey Crossbonz, I love it too, but I don't own one so it may not be obvious. I'm a Springer guy at heart, and that includes anything from a Heritage Springer to a Flathead. These days you'll find me on a GeezerGlide, but I still dig the look of the CrossBones. Ride Safe, and don't forget to service your steering head bearings on that Springer!
