Odometer Reading gone wild

Hi,I just replaced my 21 "Sportster" front wheel on my 2001 FXD and put back the original 19 stock wheel. When i drove the bike I noticed the odometer reading is reading 1000.5 miles. I know the original reading is 2,300 miles? Is there anyway to reset to the right mileage? Did changing the front wheel change the setting? Thanks,Davey

Thats strange...never heard of an odometer going backwards. Maybe that's why i see so many low mileage bikes for sale.

Gonna take a guess and say that the trip reset button on the speedo needs to be hit? I'm pretty sure that the bike mileage doesn't read down the the tenths...only the trips do.

Speedo

Well.......of course I did check the trip meter first. Turns out its a shorted spedo head. Also replaced sensor which gets its info from 4th speed. Thanks for all the help anyways.......)little fella)...Davey
