That stereotype of a rider blipping the throttle, of a loud motorcycle, is because there are riders of loud motorcycles that do this. One must ask, are they all in such bad state of tune that they won't even idle w/o wacking the throttle? Or do they just like to hear themselves? Because of HD's popularity we are singled out a lot. Dirt bikes, sport bikes, and jet skis, with loud pipes along with truck engine brakes are targeted as well. The noise problem *is* an issue affecting all motorcycles. We've brought this on ourselves, I just hope we can prevent the pendelum from swinging to the other extreme.

If you sit around on a HD doing what that guy was doing, you deserve what ever the law can dish out.
And if the sheeple believe crap like that shame on them.

I thought it was funny, and true of some. Hot outside in Daytona, fella walking around in chafs, chains, leather jacket, gloves on looking like he just got released from hell for being a bad*** biker. When I went to England with the military back in the early eighties, you'd be sitting in a pub sipping a brew, then in walk the badest looking bike gang you ever saw, you go to leave and walk outside and all you see is scooters. These guys were responsible for more than a couple of injuries to smart *** GI's. It's not the bike, it's the rider.

Well, yes, they're called panheads, shovelheads, and early Evos.
OTOH, I also agree with Bay's:
"If you sit around on a HD doing what that guy was doing, you deserve what ever the law can dish out."
But here is the thing, the commercial IS hilarious. Really, don't take yourself so seriously.

This is why I don't rev my bike at a stop sign or light. Just sit there and be as quiet as I can.

When I was running straight pipes I would'nt think of taking my bike to work at 5:AM out of respect for my neighbors. Even now with my old slash cut/screamng eagle pipes I still make as quiet a departue as I can. Luckily these pipes can be tolerable so long as I dont " whack it"
BTW, does'nt the guy in that video look like the younger guy from the Mythbusters?

Sound of power? Nah. The power is in the Brand X camps. I really enjoy my HD but I don't put power and HD in the same sentence. Ride a bunch of bikes from various manufacturers if you don't believe me.
