Road Rage=Senseless Biker Death
Just saw this on local TV station website.
http://www.wboc.com/Global/story.asp?S=3721591
I hope the link works! Anyway this was really senseless on both parts. Many is the time I have wanted to give someone a piece of my mind but too many people carry gun now days and things like this or similar to this happen way too often. The good news is while we don't compare to Virginia, Florida or Texas we do execute here in Delaware. Now I just hope they catch the SOB!

I just posted on my own road rage incident on Friday:
http://www.v-twinforum.com/forums/sh...ad.php?t=60618
And on the one hand, I feel like if we don't call people out when they're being rude or dangerous, then they will continue doing what they do, but on the other hand, we risk our safety by doing that.

Here is that article from WBOC :HARTLY- The Delaware State Police are investigating a homicide that occurred Sunday night at approximately 6:10 p.m., on State Route 11, approximately three miles north of Hartly.
Two Harley Davidson motorcycles were eastbound on State Route 44 stopped for a stop sign at the intersection with State Route 11.
Joseph D. August, 40, of Smyrna, and Matthew M. Passwaters, 44, of Bear were both operating 2004 Harley Davidson motorcycles. Both motorcycles were preparing to turn left onto northbound SR 11.
An older model Chevy Suburban was traveling westbound on SR 44 approaching the same intersection. As the motorcycles began making their left turn the Suburban allegedly slowed down but did not stop for the stop sign. The Suburban then continued westbound through the intersection cutting off the motorcycles. The police say the operator of the Suburban then allegedly made a hand gesture towards the motorcycle operators. The operators of the motorcycles then turned their bikes around and stopped on the westbound shoulder, while the operator of the Suburban stopped in the westbound lane.
According to the police, both motorcycle operators then got off their bikes, approached the Suburban, and engaged in a verbal altercation with its occupants. The police say that during this altercation one of the motorcycle operators kicked off the passenger side mirror of the Suburban, while the other operator banged on the driver’s side window. The Suburban then drove off westbound and the motorcycle operators returned to their bikes. The motorcycles then turned onto northbound SR 11 and resumed their trip.
When the motorcycles had traveled approximately three miles north on SR 11, Passwaters observed the Suburban approaching them from behind, so he pulled up next to August to inform him of this. The police say Passwaters then pulled ahead of August, and the Suburban struck the rear of August’s motorcycle.
The police say the impact caused August and his motorcycle to travel off the east edge of the roadway where they struck a tree head-on. The police say the Suburban continued northbound and also struck Passwaters's motorcycle forcing it into a field. The Suburban then continued northbound fleeing the area, according to police.
August, who was not wearing a helmet, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Passwaters, who also was not wearing a helmet, was treated at Kent General Hospital for an injury to his hand.
The Suburban, which was occupied by two white males, was described as being an older model vehicle possibly made between 1985 and 1995. The Suburban was two-tone brown in color (dark over light), and it possibly had Delaware registration.
Anyone with information about this vehicle or its operator is urged to call Troop 3 at (302) 697-4454 or Crime Stoppers at (800) TIP-3333.

My feeling exactly. While I want to say or do something about their behavior the fact is it's just not worth risking my life over someone elses stupid mistake. Besides I think most of us are guilty of making a stupid mistake at one time or another and I would hope the other person would understand. Sometimes I have to remind myself of that fact. Having said that though no one deserves to be run down and killed and I hope they find and execute the bastards.

We all make mistakes, and if someone calls me on it, I take it for what it is. I've done stupid things in my car and someone will flip me off and my reaction is one of embarrassment for being caught in the act. I just can't understand why someone would get pissed at the person that is calling them out.
For instance, if you're standing in line at the Burger King and someone accidently or intentionally cuts in line. You or someone else in line would likely make them aware of it. If they reacted with anger and started pushing you and flipping you off, you would knock them out for being a jerk. I think that people get in a car and they feel like they are anonymous and can get away with being jerks.
Let's all start reporting road ragers to 911. They are dangerous and are assaulting people with a deadly weapon (car or suv or truck). It may seem like nothing is happening, but if one of these jerks gets pulled over for speeding or another reason and the cop sees complaints to 911, they will be less likely to get off with a warning. I don't know, but it seems like we just can't ignore that behavior anymore.

ahhh I can see the article now
...The road rager was found guilty and sentanced to death by lethal injection. He was not wearing a helmet at the time the jury reached it's verdict.

Unbelievable...
Or is it...?
The same thing happened to me. The difference was, I was able to get off my bike before they ran the bike down...

Maybe we can just start a sticky thread of all these incidents and if we have enough eyes out there with a list of these jerks, eventually one of them will be tracked down and we can dish out some justice...ie:
Spray paint a big cock and balls on their car.
Fill the interior with cow manure from the local garden center.
Upside down car (this would require seven or eight of us).
Superglued door locks.
Five pounds of lard and or bacon on the backseat on a hot summer day.
You get the idea and I'm sure you all could come up with some even more creative "sentences" for their crimes.

Just wanted to point one thing out. How did an 85 suburban catch up to a pair of brand new harleys? We have 2 advantages. Speed and agility. Probably a good Idea to remind ourselvs when a road ragin suv driver is chasing you, smoke em.

...nope don't need a sticky for this. Sorry it happen, but one thing I note is that in both cases, birds and words flew. In this day and age, with the way society is, you're asking for worse.
Now flame on............yea I've seen and read of people who were shot for less.

No doubt, but at the same time, you're letting the jackoff in the cage dictate what you're doing and you're doing what they want you to do. Certainly, getting away from them is the safe thing to do, but its the principal of the thing. I don't know...it's a tough call.

I'd rather live to ride another day than get mowed down on principal. Besides it's a get out of speeding ticket free card.

Ive taken to just getting out of their way. If I dont flip someone (whom I dont know, could be a Jeffrey Daumer type in there for all I know) and I dont kick their mirror off, I'm a lot less likely to get killed. I am NOT saying those guys had it coming tho, please dont someone misquote me on that.

Ever been in a BB Suburban? That sucker will outpace a Stock Harley on the open road at anything above 90 there aint that much punch left on the bike compared to a V-8 I have pegged the speedo on my old 87 Suburban and on my new GMC ..
