Another one in the family...

My Dad bought himself a 2004 XL883 in Silver today. A birthday present to himself I guess you could say. Turns out it's the same bike I was looking at before I bought my Custom.

Guess I can't tease him anymore about riding a Honda and wearing HD tshirts.

He bought his at the same dealer I bought mine. (Northshore Harley in Slidell, LA)

Got a good deal too. Saved a couple hundred bucks off MSRP.

The sales manager gave me a T-shirt as a bird dog fee.

Archon is on a distinguished road
My son bought the same model at a discounted price at DHD in Seattle recently. It's his first Harley. He learned on my old iron head but didn't like all the valve adjusting, chain adjusting, shaking, oil leaking and so forth. (so he wouldn't buy it off me). Too bad. I still think iron heads are the best looking sportsters of all. His new sportster is something he can afford and grow with.

That's cool.

My Dad never let me ride in High School. Then after college, I got into Mustangs heavily. In 1999, he called me on a cold wet Saturday asking if I could give him a ride to go buy a motorcycle. 2 years later, he bought another one. Finally succumbing to the disease, I went out and got trained, licensed and bought an EX 250. I sold it in April and bought my Sporty. It's been bugging him since.

I rode it to his house a couple weeks after I bought it. I stood outside and just held the keys out so he could go ride it. Now he's got his own. Hopefully, we'll do some riding together more often.
