Sit or stand?
Do you sit or stand while filling the tank? Personally, I stand to fill her up. I see a lot of people sitting on the ride while topping off and was just curious.
I kind of see it like using the toilet. I have to stand while filling the bowl.

the tank fills itself after every flush. i will occasionally sit for no other reason than laziness even though i can stand and aim with the best of em
oh..sorry...
i stand straddling the seat. bike upright. gives me a good view of whats going on.
didnt we just have this chat a while back? might want to do a search. theres all kinds of stuff about spilling gas in your lap and starting fires and mayhem and stuff...

I'm anal-retentive. I stand on the right side, so I can see the filler neck clearly and keep from splashing gasoline all over the paintwork.

I usually pull up with the pump to my left side. 8 out of 10 times I dismount and stand between the pump and the bike. Sometimes I will remain seated If I can get to the CC reader easy. I've read it is best to dismount in case you have to get away from the pump in case of an emergency (like a fire).
I alway's set the bike on it's jiffy stand to get the most fuel in (or so it seems I can).

I stand as well.... and can fill while standin' on left or right side of bike..... pumps here in MA have a rubber safety around the nozzle so standing for me aids in a good grip when folding back that rubber to get the gas in the tank.

I stand on the left side. While standing I can watch to make sure I don't over flow as the gas gets close to the top of the tank. Also while standing I can move the nozzle around and write my name!!!!!!!

jl28, doesn't the friction due to hairy palms make you run the risk of fire?
