Opinion Requested on 1998 FXD/ EVO Engine

1998 FXD Superglide, what's the story on this bike/EVO engine?

I'm not familar with this bike/ engine and looking for opinions as to what to watch out for. The bike in question has (documented history) very low miles.

Also intrested in opinions on the year, 1998, as this is there 95th anniversary model. Is this good, bad or doesn't matter.

Hey everybody has an opinion, hear's a chance to tell someone what you really think.

TIA

I've got one...

Greetings,
I've got a 98 FXD with an evo. I have head and case breathers, re-jetted carb, Andrews EV-27 cam, adjustable pushrods and Hooker Staggered dual pipes with no baffles. I have Wild One Chubby 12 1/2 inch apes and a 16" Windvest windshield, side mounted headlight and Kurakyn 3" extended forward controls. Very comfortable! I got the bike with 12,000 miles on it 2 years ago. Now it has 35,000 miles on it with no engine problems at all. My turn signal canceller is going out. That is the only problem so far. I've put one new battery and two sets of tires. Sometimes I think about putting a big bore kit on it, but, for an 80 inch motor, the thing hauls ass and is quite dependable. Handles like a dirt bike. Hard to go wrong on the FXD with the rubber mounted motor.
Great bike so far...

Nothing at all wrong with the bike or the engine. I doubt if the 95th anniversary bikes are worth more than any other year.

I really like the EVO engine. I have a '99 FXR3. The engine is a great running, powerful engine. Mine has 21,000 miles on it and has never given me any problems.

How much for that '98 Dyna you're looking at?

Smile evo

its the best engine i think. i now own a twin cam. its my third one. when i sell it i am going back to the good ole evo.the evo makes less noise by far. and never forget it is the engine that saved the company.

$11K, The bike has 822 original miles. I had this confirmed by several sources. The storage facility and the harley dealer. The owner passed away and the misses left it in storage along with a lot of other stuff.

Thanks All

Thanks for all of the comments, I've gone ahead and purchased the bike. It's bone stock and needs some cleaning & checking out.

vibration

Is it normal on this rubber mounted engine to have a vibration on decel at the 35 MPH and 20 MPH range? This lasts for only a few seconds but it is noticable. (everything seems tight and true; front end, bolt-ons, drive belt, alignment, chain drive, etc.) I question this because I don't have prior experience with this bike/rubber mount engine.
TIA
