Model name key

Does anyone know of a site that explains all of the Harley names, i.e. FLSTF, etc.?

I know that the FX or FL describes the front tire, and the ST is for soft tail, etc., but I'm not as good with other bikes (Dynas, Dressers, etc.).

Thanks!

You can do a Google search for "Harley Davidson Alphabet", there are quite a few listings. Most will have something similar to Harley Dave's

FX originally stood for "Factory Experimental" when the first customs were being developed. Now the F equals big motor, X equals 21 or 19 front. And for the rest..................... Hell I've started just making up my own. FXSFHD/I that is a big motor with a 21" front and it is a "Super Fast Harley Deuce" that is fuel injected.
