why remove it??

because the freakin' emblem reminds me of a WWF title belt.

I tried carefully removing mine with adhesiver remover and careful prying... it started to lift the stripe so I left it alone.... for now.

Hey, you just gave me a great idea. My son would love a 100th anniversary Harley belt buckle for Christmas. (belt not included). I'd just have to provide him with the right documentation so the Buckle Posse doesn't come gunnin' for him!
