I've seen many HD branded items that are tacky, everything from boots, jackets, certain T-shirts, cell phones, toilet seats, and dare I say it, the VRod. No, I'm sorry I don't like it if you do that's cool, don't get all butthurt just because I don't particularly care for it.
I've seen HD sunglasses with skulls down the sides that made me laugh, I've seen the underwear, the hair clips, the beer holsters, the lazy man's head rags that are pre-folded, you just slip on and tie. I've seen practically every brand of phone they've ever made, I've seen coolers, and campers and why anyone was ever happy about HD being printed on a stock Ford is beyond me also. Don't get b!tchy about that one either, if you have it drive and don't fukk with me. I don't have to like it, but you paid over 40k for it so if you don't like, who's the dumbass now?
I've seen HD low cut shoes with flames one them, flames on a shoe? Yeah that's tacky. I've seen HD helmets that you couldn't pay me to own because upon close inspection they just look cheaply manufactured.
Basically all of this stuff seems really 'yuppie' to me. I've already pissed off half a dozen of you but I was asked what I felt was tacky in HD and that is what I've given you.
Yes I ride a Harley, the engine is a 1972 Shovelhead that we completely rebuilt and beefed up here and there. I build my own ridgid frame. The stock HD frame that the engine came in? I threw it away, and Skidder picked it out of the dumpster, now he rides around on it with his Panhead engine I've been trying to buy from him for years.
So yes I can ride a product and not really care for many other products that the company makes, manufactures, or otherwise grants permission to have their logo posted on it.
The most tacky thing to me? The Barbie Harley package, yeah, now we've gone overboard. Barbie can park her little pink fatboy right next to her little pink Vette, but I wonder if she plans on making an addition on her pink garage to park her pink Jeep too? You think Ken really likes living in that house?
BadgerOctane, just telling it like it is and not really minding a difference of opinions. Live and ride, I may not like it but you bought it, what does my opinion count?

I agree with badgeroctane, I am glad Harley is doing good, but it is such a yupppie thing now. I think it was the new york times or some other east coast newspaper that said the 100th party was the worlds largest costume party. I thought about that, and had to agree I would guess 75% of the people there don't really have a passion for riding or Harleys , I think they just want to be part of the scene and maybe ride 1000 miles a year. But hey whom am I to judge, to each his own.

one of the local dealers had their yearly open house and they had 20% off everything in the store. i waited for a couple of months for the sale cause i needed a tire and all the seals and gaskets for the inner and outter primary. it leaked like crazy but i rode it anyway.i had all the parts i needed and the tire sitting on the counter and some guy walks up to me and said"that doesn't look like any fun,why don't you go buy yourself a t-shirt?" i told him i haven't bought a harley t-shirt in 10 years and i only spend my money on parts. i did all the work myself because that's my kind of fun. i say all harley trinkets are tacky.

Hey. If all the harley trrinkets means cheaper bikes, more power to em! Besides, my Harley condoms make me bigger.
As for the V-rod. One of the sharpest bikes I've seen of late was a black, fattail blackrimmed V-rod. Bad ass!!!

"Tackiest" thing I've seen was a baby Harley t-shirt for $25.

I just assume that when you buy one you realize it's a little different and expect a little ribbing...... but I am just kidding around. I'm sorry it offended anyone.
WOW Ketsugo...my profile with a link of it's own...I'm flattered. By the way...I just sold the Fat Boy...not 100% sure what I'll get. Most likely a RK Custom. Some guy in a thread said they were copies of some Japanese cruiser and it didn't bother me one bit.
I don't really feel I am closed-minded...not compared to many who think that anything without a V-twin, fairing and fiberglass bags is crap and that V-rods are "crotch rocket *** bike copies"......guys who wouldn't know a Hayabusa from a Honda ST1300 because they ain't harleys. I think V-rods are fine power cruisers and would probably buy one if I was in the market for that type of bike. I admit though that I have a tough time resisting tweeking those who are so easily tweeked.
