Attaching Patches to Leather?
Besides sewing, is there a good way to put paches on leather (Jackets)?
I heard once to use a hotmelt glue gun?
Any thoughts...?

A glue gun won't work; leather is a flexible surface, and when the glue dries it forms a solid sheet and won't flex. As soon as you wear the leather it will crack and break the glue, which will then flake off.
Sew 'em on and be done with it! And if you can't find an alteration shop that will work in leather, take your gear to a shoe repair shop. They have the heavy-duty machinery that you need to sew through leather.

I have a friend who does auto upulstry (SP) so I could get it sewn, I was more worried about the liner needing to be cut and somehow fixed. Its a goos jacket with a thick padded liner and a spine pad.

You can have it sewn right over the liner, (cheapest). Or they can open up the seam closest to the area you want it on, and sew it on, and re-sew the seam again. So you wont see the stitching on the liner. When I got my patch sewn on my vest, it was almost double the price to have the seam opened up.

Get them sewn on. Don't waste your time with glue. They look tacky when they're falling off with the glue half on and half off.

Right on, Pepper Boy .... I gotta drawer full of patches and pins, dunno if I'm ever gonna do anything with them. Wife keeps pushing me to get them sewn on a vest or something. Already told her I wouldn't put them on my jacket.

I recently had 2 patches sewn on my jacket. I went to a leather shop that had a special machine or technique that could deal with my jacket since it has a mesh liner and kevlar padding on the shoulders, elbows and spine. My patches? a POW/MIA olive drab patch on one shoulder and a #1 Harley patch on the other

I'm reasonably certain that if someone sees me in a store or where ever, they will know what kind of bike I ride. They will definitely know when I scream by......
I have a few patches laying around myself. I just don't see myself as a patch wearin guy. Maybe it'll change................
