OK I give up
I've seen a few bikes on the road and on a couple of videos with this "accessory". Try as I might I can't for the life of me figure out what the hell it or its function is. I'm referring to a long (4 feet +/-) of leather hanging off of one of the handgrips.
WHAT IS THIS????? Is it for whipping your bike to make it go faster??? Or for beating off obnoxious cagers??? Do I need to run out and get one???
Someone help me out... please
JW

Don't know either. I do know the fast bikes don't have 'em.

Velcro? Pfffft! It's completely pimped out and closes on the EZ Pass like a vise with CHROME bolts.

Like they said. They are whips. Been around for a long time.
Never had one and not looking to, also not too worried about what other people do with their bikes.
Oh, and I'm not beatin' off any cagers or anyone else for that matter.

Well my son .... back in the day they were used to ward off Cages. ...
I have had more than a few laughs at the replys but do not take it as anything less than the transistor radio & the Zippo lighter vs the Blue ray & the Bic

I've heard them called 'get back whips'. Seems worthless to me though. May have worked back in horse and buggy days but I sure can't see it working today.

He-he...
These days they're more commonly known as poser whips (make that 'poseur' for the chronically insipid).

I'm not here to judge, but I am not beating anybody off except for myself...
