If you've known about this then you're the one who started the sarcasm.

Yeah I guess you got me, I have to remember sometimes forums can tend to be like a circus, and every circus has clowns, one reason I don't spend much time on this forum.

Well, no V Rod engine in a touring bike...Yawn, we did get twin exhaust cooling, or something like that! Maybe next year.....

Sorry, just saw this thread.

Actually, I'd love a V-Rod engine in a Road Glide frame.

If you Google "v-rod road rod kit" you will find a bunch of sites, including Cycle Vision and GRCustoms, with products to convert a V-Rod into a bagger.

They make the vrod look like a bagger. to be a real bagger the frame will have to change. The front end geometry is for a drag bike, and for larger than "average" people they will not be comfortable 2 up. I really liked the performance of my vrod but no matter what I did for a seat solo riding was painful beyond 300 miles so I never rode 2 up for more than a short ride. That being said I'm bigger than the average bear but I'm convinced the vrod motor in a proper touring style frame would suit me to a "T" !

That may be true but if you want to get real technical about it the engine is not suitable for a bagger scenario. It's performance curve does not start until somewhere => than 4K rpms whereas a bagger needs something down i the 2500 rpm rabge.

Olivepearl wants to know Dino or Syn?
Rustyg your right... I piss more torque than a Vrod @ 2000. Loaded two up in the mountains it would have to be rung out at all times. I'm not knocking the Vrod it's just not built for full time touring.

I would love to see a Bagger version of the V-Rod Engine. Having owned 2 V-rods (See signature) I know of the reliability and performance characteristics of the beast.
