Well the roads are still free of snow where I am so I hope to get the bike out next week when the temps are going to be in the upper 40's with no rain.
It's rare to ride a MC around here after Thanksgiving.

80 degrees here today. As I have said in other post we have 2 seasons. Very hot with gnats and not quite as hot without gnats. Dreading summer... Weatherman says cold snap coming soon with a low of a frigid 42, brrrrrrrrrrr. LOL

That is not actually correct. Today is not the shortest day of the year, but it is the earliest sunset for the northern hemisphere. There are anomalies in the earth's orbit around the sun. It is not round. What that actually means is that today is the earliest sunset. What happens in the next two weeks is that the sun starts to set about one minute later each day now. But the sun also rises two minutes later each day. So the day is shorter, but it gets darker later. The latest sunrise is about January 7th or so.

That's interesting, didn't know that. Makes me happy though. I'm one of those seasonal affective disorder (mildly) folks that isn't happy with the early sunsets. I like lots of daylight.
Edit: It appears that you are correct about the earliest sunset, but if this link is accurate, a little fuzzy on the reason why . . .

Later part of December 20 or 21 then slowly the days start getting longer, course it's also the coldest time of year and usually the stormiest for us.Love it because of all the OT we get restoring power.
